Both Laura and I will be attending the Gencon Gamefair, this August 18th through 21st, 2005 held in the Indianapolis Convention Center. We have a lighter than usual schedule of events this year although there may be some announcements at the convention this year of some import — we’ll post them here as they break.
If you can attend, here is our events list:
HICKMAN’S KILLER BREAKFAST
Friday, August 19th / 9:00 AM
Hyatt Hotel / Regency Ball Room
A rampaging gamemaster, 300 first-level characters facing certain death …. and show-stopping musical numbers! Tracy Hickman, Laura Curtis and the usual crew take on all comers in their classic, wacky, no-holds-barred role playing game for three hundred plus players. Play onstage or join in the audience participation. A hilarious Gen Con tradition!
HICKMAN’S SCHEDULED SIGNING
Friday, August 19th / 2:00 PM
Tracy and Laura Hickman will be appearing in the Wizards of the Coast Booth to sign autographs. (See note below.)
HICKMAN’S HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME
Saturday, August 20th / 10:00 AM
Embassy Suites Coronation Room
Dragonlance authors and game designers Tracy & Laura Hickman present radical player techniques which one designer of Third Edition D&D said threatened gaming itself! Learn both player and gamemaster techniques designed to put fun and adventure back in your games (and drive bad DMs and players wild) in this riotous seminar.
HICKMAN’S WORLD OF THE BRONZE CANTICLES
Saturday, August 20th / 2:00 PM
Embassy Suites Coronation Room
Thrice upon a time, there was a world that was three worlds! Join Dragonlance co-creators Tracy and Laura Hickman in an exciting exploration of their fantastic series, including previews of their upcoming Mystic Empire. Experience maps, histories and tales revealed nowhere else! Includes an open Q&A. (We will be showing the new maps and character images from book 3, Mystic Empire and reading from the manuscript to the new book.)
In addition, Laura and I will be most often found in the Sovereign Press booth (#611 located across the aisle from the Wizards of the Coast area) where you can purchase copies of Mystic Quest and Margaret’s new Serenity RPG (for which I got to design a few ships). We’ll be happy to sign your books there although I understand that Summer Glau and Ron Glass from the Serenity cast are also scheduled to appear in Margaret’s Booth so things might get very busy there.
Hope to see you there!
