About the Book

The Epic Adventure Begins…

Dragons. Creatures of legend. Stories told to children. But now dragons have returned to Krynn. The darkness of war and destruction threatens to engulf the land. Then hope appears—a blue crystal staff in the hands of a beautiful barbarian woman. The promise of hope, as fleeting as smoke upon the autumn wind, forces a group of longtime friends into the unlikely roles of heroes. Knight and barbarian, warrior and half-elf, dwarf and kender and dark-souled mage; they begin a perilous quest for … the legendary Dragonlance.

The War of the Lance is an era in which ancient legends come to life, when ordinary people become heroes during extraordinary times, and when dragons battle for control of the world. Ancient ruins and mighty cities may hold the answers to thwart the will of Takhisis, the Queen of Darkness.

War of the Lance brings the world of Krynn to life as described in the best-selling Dragonlance Chronicles. Enjoy the details about the world, the characters, and the epic war, or bring the information to the gaming table using the d20 System rules. This volume contains specific information about the Age of Despair and the war, and includes new classes, feats, spells, and magic items. Important characters of the age are described, including the Heroes of the Lance and the powerful Dragon Highlords.
